I must thank the fantastic parents and learners who gave up some of their holiday time to pop in and load their settings. Seeing the excitement and enthusiasm they have was priceless! What exactly was required.
WiFi
-Recording the devices Wifi address and entering into our school firewall settings.
-Individual Wifi usernames and passwords for learners. (This was a change for us to allow more security to both uses and the school.)
Sounds
-Turning all these off. 32 incoming emails along with keyboard clicks would drive me insane. Glad i remembered this one.
Communication
-Email etc easy as due to using GAFE. We will also be using the calendar and blogger through google.
5 days and counting till i see if all the hard prep work will pay off.
I am so excited for you and for your class! All the prep has been done and I am so looking forward to visiting the class often and seeing the outcomes. Keep up the great work!
ReplyDeleteOur chromebooks have been a similar learning curve BUT I LOVE them!! Having 1-1 is so amazing and the kids are really taking ownership of their own device!
ReplyDeleteVery much agree there! I am seeing a lot of ownership of their own learning. I am learning everyday, today it was google docs app version verse online, which would do what better.
